It’s the time of year for spreading joy and good cheer…but
it’s also time to take awesome holiday pictures!!! Yes,
some of this year’s holidays have come and gone, but there
are still a few big ones to come…so get those cameras ready
and follow these easy tips for creating magical memories that
will last a lifetime.
*When taking a group photo, try to get creative
with the arrangement. Try some people kneeling, while other sit
& stand. Be mindful of the background…it’s will
be easier to choose a nice background now, rather than try to
edit it later! Oh, and try to use a tripod or other support &
your camera’s self-timer…family pics are always better
with the entire family in them…that means YOU!!!
*Try zooming in on favorite holiday tree ornaments
(and you can make a special album for them with Meryl’s
“Christmas Family Treasures” kit!). You can also do
this with special presents & toys…the wonderful memories
will last longer than the gifts themselves!
*Keep your camera handy at all times….batteries
fully charged & film/media cards ready to go. Lots of great
memories happen during the holidays…make sure you are ready
to capture them!
*The holiday dinner table can be an amazing site!
Take photos before anyone digs in…these can make incredible
layouts/backgrounds for future use. Besides, everyone goes through
so much trouble to prepare those enormous holiday feasts, why
not capture the beauty of the holiday dinner table at its best!
*Make sure to get low to the ground when capturing
those moments when children open the special gifts. You’ll
get a better perspective of the child’s point-of-view.
*Try to reduce red eye by using your camera’s
flash for red eye reduction. Opening windows to let in light will
also help.
*TAKE PLENTY OF PICTURES!!! You never know when
you’ll get an amazing shot…so just keep on snapping,
especially if you have a digital camera.
